So I am planning my wedding for 9-10-11 (Sept 10, 2011) My dad is helping pay for it (but, I have so many ideas) and it is coming together, but am scared to start with my downpayments. I have colors,cake, DJ, Venue, Coordinator, and Save the Dates..

I can't find a decent florist or photographer who won't charge over 1500 for their services.

Why are flowers more than the DJ? Can anyone recommend something? I also haven't decided on a dress. Can't I rent one?

I have been married for 10 years and am doing a renewing of vow ceremony, so I don't know if I am overdoing it.

Suggestions are more than welcome My zip code is 20170, I am near Alexandria

I know weddings can be so expensive. I just got engaged and I am feeling the same sticker shock. I know flowers can be very expensive too. I actually am a PT event florist who is in NOVA. Things can add up, althought I can't complain on my end because my DJ, Cake & Caterer are free. I don't have to pay them. Also my photographer is free because I was like you and could not see myself paying that much for someone to take my picture when my Dad does just as good for free, although my Dad isn't the photographer, a friend whom has been experimenting the last couple of years is. She's good.

As for your flowers, be sure to shop around the florists in your town. Even ordering online, shop around. I don't know if you're doing to DIY thing but artifical are very affordable and you can make an array of arrangements with artifical without the overwhelming costs. If you're interested in artificial I got some really nicely priced roses from eFavorMart.com, they're silk & their quality is amazing to only be $14.99 for 68 roses.
