The Elizabeth Filmore Spring 2011 Collection was such a graceful and delicate collection. All of her dresses shared a common slinder cut and detailed fabric design.
We saw a lot of embroidered lace incorporated into the designs and beautiful back details. The “Amelie” wedding gown is a perfect example of the open back designs that we saw and loved – so delicate!
As the designer clearly demonstrated, all the pieces of her collection really showcased the “Elizabeth Bride” – elegant with a vintage flare, simple and chic. Even the showroom exuded those qualities with an oversized mirror covered in lace, light pink flowers, big open windows and chandelier light fixtures.
The “Tango” wedding dress was one of our favorites… it is a very romantic satin design with a draping cowl neckline and modest train – such a statement piece!

The Vera Wang 2011 Spring-Summer Collection celebrates the fragile femininity of “tea party” and “garden party” dresses. We saw frothy gowns in the palest Easter egg tints of lavender, blush, rose and silver gray. All had a youthful spirit and an air of romance—we could imagine floating down the aisle in one of these light, airy creations. Here are a few of our favorites:
This strapless Mikado mermaid gown is designed with organza “ladder technique” and a frothy tulle skirt.
Impressive detail on this one! A blush-colored strapless floral embroidered ball gown with hand-printed floating blossoms on a draped skirt.
This could be our favorite—it’s an organza strapless ball gown with a corset bodice, full-draped skirt that’s hand-printed with a floral design and a flower corsage at the waist.
Strapless two-piece silk gazar gown with multi-tiered peplum bodice and cascading skirt.

At the Flathotel in NYC, Rivini rolled out its new Fall 2010 collection of stunning gowns, which featured unusual colors like gray, soft embellishments like flower petals, subtle bling, and layers of tulle. Here are some highlights…
Inspired by doves, this duchesse dress is a soft gray and features a sweeping, flared hemline that’s accented at the waist with Swarovski crystal belt wrapped in a light, frothy tulle. The faux-fur scarf is the perfect addition for a fall or winter wedding.
Total va-va-voom glam, this is another example of Rivini’s dove gray color (also comes in ivory and white). The dress has an alencon lace bodice overlaid with delicately beaded tulle and accented with organza rosettes. What a stunner!
Love the modified trumpet skirt on this gorgeous silk organza gown, which is layered under a softened elongated peplum. Both tiers are bordered in bands of organza and chiffon flowers with crystal detailing finish the waistline.

Douglas Hannant showed his super-sophisticated collection at The Plaza. There was something for every style of bride-from the dreamy romantic to the edgy fashion plate. I loved the “something blue” accents-from an ice blue sash to the porcelain blue embroidery on the “Cisa” (shown below).

I just saw (and totally loved) the Angel Sanchez show today. He is such a great guy, full of energy and true passion for what he does, and took some time to speak with me afterwards. Check back on Wedding Dish for the full interview!

Interviewing Angel Sanchez after the show!
Here are a few highlights from the runway:

Style: Adriana
Love this ivory textured, embroidered trumpet gown with asymmetrical draping accented with box details on one shoulder and opposite hip.

Style: Lani
Layers are a big trend this season, and this off-white silk gazar and tulle ball gown with handkerchief panel skirt shows off the trend well.

Style: Adriana
The little ice-blue belt adds a special touch—splashes of light blue is something I’ve seen a lot more of this season! This a-line gown also features an intricate swirl-embroidered bodice.

Style: Lani N8008
What was so stunning about this trumpet gown was the French net overlay — it looked like a beautiful web cascading over the silk underneath.

Melissa Sweet
The dresses were so versatile and would be perfect for a wedding in any season. The wedding gowns in the Reverie by Melissa Sweet collection were all free flowing and playful. Ranging from short to long, these gowns all shared a common bohemian and free-spirited quality.

Melissa Sweet
The Melissa Sweet collection designed by Lia McNairy and Antonio Gual had a very vintage feel about it. The collection showcased a lot of lace and floral applique. The designers incorporated a lot of ruffles and sequence into their gowns creating a look made for brides who want to shine.

The gown designer Lia McNairy is wearing in the image above is one very similar to a piece in the collection. (stay tuned for all backstage interviews!)
The Priscilla of Boston collection started off with beautiful jewel toned bridesmaids dresses. The collection was very versatile and showcased a number of charcoal, fig and deep blue dresses.

These dresses were very versatile and their thin fabrics allow them to work well for destination weddings. Every piece was paired with grey beaded headbands which added that extra flare.
The wedding gowns in this collection were all about the flare as well. I saw a lot of lace, beaded accents in the straps as well as belts and lots of buttons on the back of the dress weaving all the way down through the trains. Strapless was the popular cut in this collection but there were two dresses that stood out in particular for me. One was a three quarter length lace sleeved gown – I immediately thought Charlotte bride! There was such an elegance and old school traditional feel to the dress.

The second was a satin v-neck gown with a detailed floral accent on the shoulder. This handmade silk flower gave the dress such character.

The jewel collection was just that, full of jewels. I thought the collection was so clean and classic and incorporated these hints of embellishments in such intricate and tasteful ways. I saw a lot of clear crystal jewels as well as white and black pearls.

Again lace was very prominent in these designs as well. The finale piece was this beautiful ball gown with sheer lace embroidered cap sleeves and delicate ribbon belt. Very classy, very jewel!

The Vineyard collection showcased a lot of statement pieces. These gown had a lot of dramatic detailing that was very unique. One piece that stands out in my mind was this silk taffeta ball gown with an attached wrap shaw. The fabric billowed beautifully down through the skirt and into the train. Another standout piece was a fitted gown with a oversized smocked bolero – so cool!

The Platinum collection was very fantasy, princess bride inspired. I saw a lot of rose detailing, beaded bodices and even rose colored gowns. The dresses were also paired with these oversized chunky crystal necklaces that really added an extra element of glam.

Platinum
One piece that stood apart from the rest was a short sleeved Chantilly lace t-shirt mini dress – very woman on the go!

All of these collections were so memorable and complimented every different type of bridal style. Stay tuned for some exclusive backstage interviews, insider commentary and more images from the Priscilla of Boston collections in The Wedding Dish.
