Wish Upon a Wedding Inspiration: Erwin & Ed’s ‘Wedding In White’

Are you ready to be inspired? I hope you so, because Erwin and Ed’s ceremony and reception recaps are here, and they’re heartfelt, touching and beautiful.

I’m thrilled to share these with you, first because of the wonderful job my fellow Wish Upon a Wedding DC board members and our wish granters did in making this a magical day, but even more so because it was a fabulous celebration of love and hope for the most deserving couple.

WUW Atlanta Launch Party

The Atlanta Chapter’s Wish Upon a Wedding Launch Party was a huge success – everyone involved did a tremendous job. Another big congrats to the Chapter President Brian Green for all his hard work, Greg Snow of Creative Details for designing and planning the event and a special shout out to Lauren Atwaters for designing the adorable Get Married decals (pictured below). How exciting that FOX 5′s Good Day Xtra took interest in Wish Upon a Wedding, the world’s first nonprofit wedding wish-granting organization, and Get Married’s charity of choice! We are so proud to be a part of this charity organization and our dear friend Brian Green represented beautifully.

Erwin and Ed: They Wished Upon A Wedding…

This Saturday, in a beautiful celebration of love in the face of life’s biggest obstacle – terminal illness – Wish Upon a Wedding DC will host its first wedding for Erwin and Ed at Meridian House.

I had the honor of meeting this gracious and loving couple at our chapter’s launch party in June, where their passion for life, love, and each other was apparent to everyone in the room.

In honor of tomorrow’s celebration, here are a few lovely engagement photos taken by Mary Kate McKenna Photography of the couple and their two sons. The photos are incredible, as is Erwin’s strength in the face of advanced lung cancer.

Congratulations to the couple, and I can’t wait to see their amazing wedding photos!

Couples planning to be married can bid online for wedding-related auction items starting in October or at a Blissful Wishes Ball in your city in November, with all proceeds benefiting Wish Upon a Wedding.

Wish Upon a Wedding is currently seeking donated products or services in 46 cities, ranging from wedding gowns to tuxedos, invitations to cakes, and limousine services to honeymoons. It only takes a moment to register and make a difference in someone’s life! Be sure to add your item to the correct category (city), and don’t forget to include your company logo and URL.

What a great advertising opportunity~ and you’ll be making a positive difference in someone’s life who truly deserves it!

Wish Upon a Wedding D.C. Launch Party Recap!

Between my day job, navigating the paperwork frenzy that is a name change, and all my other side projects, it’s been a busy past couple of weeks!

But throughout all the craziness, one of the top highlights was definitely attending the Wish Upon a Wedding D.C. launch party at Lounge 201 on June 27.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a hundred times. I love the mission of Wish Upon a Wedding, and it’s a true honor to serve on the board of such a fantastic group. Now that we’ve officially launched, our chapter is hard at work planning a dream wedding for wish recipients Erwin and Ed, an inspiring couple who truly embrace the notion of living in the moment.
