My husand and I have been searching for the most beautiful and affordable venue to have our wedding in Atlanta. When I say my husband and I, I really mean just me. It seems like all of the beautiful venues are outside of the city. This would not be an issue if 50% of our guests were not from out-of-town.
My husband and I currently live in Roosevelt, NY, which is on Long Island, and therefore his family and friends would have to travel to Georgia for our wedding. The reason we are getting married in Atlanta is because that’s where we met and lived for almost three years and most of my family is in Georgia. I don’t want to pick a venue that is outside the city because half of our guests will not have transportation and they are not familiar with the Atlanta. Most of them would be scared to drive out to Gwinett Co. where there is more grass and trees than concrete and buildings….lol.
So…….I have narrowed my list down to a couple of places. My first choice is the Piedmont Room.
The Piedmont Room is a gorgeous venue right next to Piedmont Park. Not only is to in the heart of the city and close to many hotels, it also captures the unique charm of Atlanta that I want my guests to experience.
I’ll be in Georgia in a couple of weeks to pick up my son….thank God for my mother who volunteered to keep him for the entire summer. So I plan on touring the facility with my husband.
Does anyone have any other suggestions for venues in the Atlanta area? My budget is around $15,000. Let me know what you think.
