This past week, I came down with something. What it is, I do not know… I am hoping its the run of the mill cold with a mix of allergies. And since i sound stuffy and can’t really smell, i figure what better time than to brainstorm FLOWERS!!!!!!!!

As most of my close friends know, one of my fave colors that has become almost a signature color for me is Yellow. This theme has carried into my engagement with my FH picking out my Fancy Light Yellow Diamond…

Now it seems very likely that the color for my wedding will probably be a similar light yellow/butter yellow/soft yellow/champagne/metallic gold trims broad spectrum palette. (This isn’t 100% yet) So what kind of flowers should I consider in sticking with this theme?

I have considered both yellows and whites and all shades in between. I love the thought of something romantic as filling a basket full of baby’s breathes with some greens and using that as centerpieces. Or even something a little more dramatic with some color.  I want simple but dramatic. Laid back and beautiful.

Here are a few i found that really stuck out for me… I’d love some feedback and the ones that you like and why?

 Flower Power!
Another one borrowed From GM’s CB Kevin Lee. It’s part of a new trend that he discusses in his post here about OVER THE TOP floral decorations.  it’s so dramatic!
Another thing I’d like to know too is – which flowers to stay away from? A lot of wedding sites discuss the visual but don’t mention if the smell is good or bad. Usually most flowers smell nice, but i know that not all of them do. I know some flowers smell can be pretty strong or even offensive. Also, some flowers are just not meant for longevity once cut from its stem… Any suggestions for good pretty nice smelling flowers? Any flowers to steer clear of?
