J.Crew is always on my birthday-holiday wish list (yes, I have been burdened with celebrating both in the same week?!?)

And always dreaming of an endless J.Crew budget, I love to mark the pages of the catalog as I did when I was a kid at Christmas time - and leave it ever-so-strategically open on the table for my family's viewing. Not always effective but worth a shot...

Given gift guides are being posted left and right, I thought I would share my favorite J.Crew stocking stuffers that won't break the bank this holiday season!

The Empire State Building.

It is deemed one of the world's most romantic places to kiss - and "the closest thing to heaven in this city" according to character, Terry McKay in the romantic movie classic, An Affair to Remember.

Inspired by the City That Never Sleeps and the current wedding contest, "Love Above All," launched by the Empire State Building, Red Envelope and ProFlowers, I couldn't help but put together some of my favorite things from the wedding collection from Red Envelope.

When I think of NYC and love, I think of style, sophistication and feeling on top of the world!

1 - Craft Cocktail Book | 2 - Whiskey Lover's Set | 3 - Good Together Wooden Wall Art | 4 - Chervon Necklace | 5 - Pocket Compass

Oh my gosh...miniature things are just so darn cute but to be cute AND practical. That's unheard of! Unless you are a Minimergency Kit from Pinch Provisions.

Truly a MUST-HAVE for every bride!

The practicality of the contents is obvious...each kit includes 21 must-haves for the future Mrs. Right: hairpspray, clear nail polish, nail polish remover, emery board, earring backs, clear elastics, mending kit, safety pin, Shemergency tape, stain remover, deodorant towelette, pain reliever, tampon, breath freshner, dental floss, adhesive bandages, facial tissue, blotting tissues, bobby pins, antacid and even extra wedding bands! Wow!

And to fitt into these chic fun zip pouches that truly fit into the palm of your hand! Genius.

There is even one for the groom!

And I adore all of the options for those not concerned with planning nupitials...new season, new reason to update my Minimergency Kit!

Honestly, I'm not sure why everyone doesn't have one of these for travel?!? Best party favor ever. Best gift ever. Perfect for your mom, BFF, sister, bro, nanny, roomie...everything you need in a pinch!

Deep breath.

I have been wanting to share Mark and Graham for-EVER. I think I get too overwhelmed because I just love EVERYTHING. SO, I am just going to bite the bullet and share some of my faves because you need to be checking them out if you don't already.

I stumbled upon them when I was putting together my gift guide last holiday season and I have not left them alone since?!? They have become my definite go-to gift shop for wedding, showers, birthdays, graduations, hostess...and of course, treats for myself! Too much perfection at Mark and Graham.

A monogram freak since I got my first Papagallo bag when I was 8...I was taken by these words on their site.

"We believe that a mark is more than a symbol;
it's an artful mingling of typography and design
that turns a gift into a personal gesture."
-mark and graham

Brilliant. You had me at mark...

Check out their amazingly fresh, cool products and monograms...and add them to your wish list, stat! Here some immediate faves of mine.

Undeniably obsessed with their clutches and totes (ask my friends!)...

I am in love with their brass jewelry collection!

Calling all of my sea side and sailing friends, this nautical collection is spot on...

And I can't get enough of the home collection...one of each, please?!?

And my most recent purchase, these stunning copper mugs, ideal for a family favorite libation, the Moscow Mule...cheers!

And the icing on the cake is the impeccable gift box (complimentary every time!) It honestly makes me melt before I even see what's inside!

markgrahamgiftbox2.jpgNow go make your mark...Cheers!

There's nothing better than going up north to spend the weekend with friends at their cabin. One of my favorite things about Minnesota (and Wisconsin) - and summer.

I was recently in Hayward, WI and my main mission for the rainy day was to get some taffy at Tremblay's Sweet Shop (another Today I Love...I little restraint here!)...however, I happened to stumble upon a wonderland of leather, craftsmanship and a fresh take on the moccasin in more colors and styles than imaginable. It was truly love at first sight.

Itasca Leathergoods is a haven for the most fashion-forward moccasins on the market. Minnesota-made and taking up residence in the quaint resort town of Hayward, WI. What a gem! How did I not know about these?!?!

So many color combinations. Plus, cow, buffalo, elk and moose hide to choose from. And even the fluffiest of sheepskin! I could hardly wait to try on a pair - and when I did they felt like butter on my feet. Sold!

And check out this AWESOME wall...love this idea!

You can also make a custom pair with any color combination. I instantly thought these would make THE best gift for your wedding party in your custom colors!

And the men's mocs rock too...

Itasca Leathergoods is a great story with great american-made products. Your feet will thank you and be the envy of everyone! I love these today and everyday...

I can't believe I did not have these as my water bottle staples before jsus recently?!! bkr bottles are not only stunning but ALL CLEAN EVERYTHING.

I love the bkr story of two friends sharing the belief that beauty can inspire real change...and that green can be beautiful. And beautiful are the bkr bottles. Glass + silicone.

The silicone sleeves are of the most fetching color palette...so hard to just choose one! And then the limited heart edition. Swoon!

Go green. Drink better water. Own a statement water bottle that not only looks good but does good and will be the envy of everyone. Go bkr.

Ever wonder how you could possibly repurpose all of those old trophies you have packed away in storage?! Inspired by my hoarding of childhood trophies which feature the most eclectic collection of trophy tops - a rabbit, a horse, a soccer player, a cheerleader - I realized that I loved the tops and what they represented (okay, maybe I a little personal validation of my childhood feats?!)

And what better way to make what is old, new again than transform these trophies into fresh and modern wine stoppers! It is so easy that you can even do it just in time for Father's Day!

Here's what you need:

  • Trophy Top (Can be salvaged from antique stores, flea markets or even your storage unit! Can also be purchased at your local trophy store or online.)
  • Wine Bottle Cork (Preferably a medium tapered cork (standard for wine bottles), purchased at my local hardware store or can be found online in bulk.)
  • Drill with 5/32 drill bit
  • Super glue
  • Empty wine bottles (the perfect excuse to have another glass!)
  • Paint (optional)

First, pre-drill the cork with the drill bit (a 5/32 bit is what we used). The size of the bit should be just a tad smaller than the threads on the trophy top. Drill 1/2 the length of the cork.

Next (and finally), add just a a dab of Super Glue to the threads of the trophy and screw the top into the cork.

Yahoo! Coolest wine stopper ever complete.

These are as good as gold but how about adding a pop of color?! We painted, dipped and sprayed a few and I'm in love with the results!

When painting with a paint brush, we used Martha Stewart Acrylic Craft Paint in Chipotle from Michaels. Put washi tape on the trophy top to create a nice edge and prevent the paint from bleeding. Paint with a brush. Remove tape and let dry.

To dip paint the trophy, we used Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint in Graphite to create a modern matte finish. I recommend putting some of the paint in a small container and dipping the trophy in the paint to the desired amount. Hang to dry with a paper towel underneath to catch any drips. (Make sure to gently wipe any drips off the bottom of the trophy before they dry!)  This horse head is MY FAVE!

If you are opting to spray paint, I recommend finding a scrap piece of wood and drill some holes the size of the threads of the trophy. Place the trophy tops in the holes. Spray with small even strokes. Let dry. We used Rust-Oleum Spray Paint in Chrome to make this football player nice and shiny!

Not only are these wine stoppers a great gift but I would love to use these as part of a centerpiece or table numbers! What a fun way to show off your skillz (even if they are wannabe)...or even cheers to the glory days!

Cake plate obsessed, I fell head over heels for these whimsical numbers by IMM Living via Pure Home.

The horse head was a must-have and CANNOT WAIT to use it! But I do love the display with all of the animals together...so fun that they truly do "take the cake!"

I am known to always be wearing arm candy in all shapes and colors but I instantly fell in love with Dillon Rogers' Kid's Signature Leather Bracelets and immediately added it to my collection. A definite must-have.

What a great piece that is totally unique and customizable with over 18 colors of leather and featuring the signatures of your kids (or anyone else for that matter?!) Plus they felt like rock stars giving me their autograph! The process is super simple and makes the perfect gift!

fidelis mn market bag

I saw my friend's MN Market Bag from the Fidelis Co. and was literally giddy. Tote-obsessed, I couldn't stop wondering why had I not seen this before?!? And then to find out that they are a local company with a super strong purpose on providing quality tools we carry and things we use...I had to share!

This market bag had me at the rivets, the leather and the jute. It is stunning AND practical - and I can never resist a shout out to the Land of 10,000 Lakes.

All of the Fidelis Co. products are BEAUTIFUL and made right. From the Field Notebook to the hand painted Canoe Paddle (truly a piece of art) to the Riggers Belt, they all ooze craftsmanship anyone would be proud to own.

One could call me a Bag Lady and I would take no offense...I {heart} bags!

And these Mercado Global bags in Red Envelope's Inspiration Market are no exception. Stunning.

I love that they showcase the skill, design and craftsmanship of indigenous artisans of Guatemala as well provide the opportunity for these women to craft these beautiful bags and support their families while sharing their art with the world.

As many pictures as I take, I tend to have a hard time sitting down and putting them in a book?! Always my rainy day project that gets pushed to the next rainy day...

I stumbled upon the idea of making an Instagram book from Blurb - and I am so happy I did as well as had the gumption to go ahead and do it (no rainy day needed!)

Instagram seems to capture truly candid randomness that makes up my life - especially when you see it in print! Love it. No more excuses as it was SO EASY to do. The IDEAL way to bundle and share your most real and memorable people, places and events.

I know I will be making more...and to see all my candid randomness, follow me on Instagram.
