NYC bucket list. Get blow out at DreamDry, the ultimate blow-dry bar co-founded by Rachel Zoe and Robin Moraetes. Check!
As promised, DreamDry wasn't just a salon - it was a destination.
Luxury. Fun. Efficient. I loved every minute of it.

The energy was fabulous. The people stunning. The products smelled divine. And the glass of champagne was just what I needed...it was heaven and the perfect way to start my weekend in the Big Apple.
I loved the excitement my stylist, Steven had when he found out I was from Minnesota and that this was on my to-do list. Loved seeing co-owner, Robin in there in a gorgeous new braid they were testing. Beautiful and SO NICE!
Steven and I quickly bonded over our favorite TV show, Nashville. And while debating over braids or waves as I flipped thru the iPad of styles, we decided to go for Country Music Star hair and pay homage to Connie Britton and Hayden Pantierre. {giggle} For a girl with stick straight hair (and a girl who wished she could sing!?!), this was DREAM hair.
I miss DreamDry already. I smell my Oribe products at home and it brings me back. I can't imagine going to NYC without a stop here again! So much fun, takes less than an hour and doesn't cost an arm and a leg! Already booking my appointment for my next trip in June...and I just may have to go for the braids!
Make every day glamorous.
Cheers!
One could call me a Bag Lady and I would take no offense...I {heart} bags!
And these Mercado Global bags in Red Envelope's Inspiration Market are no exception. Stunning.
I love that they showcase the skill, design and craftsmanship of indigenous artisans of Guatemala as well provide the opportunity for these women to craft these beautiful bags and support their families while sharing their art with the world.
Be sure and check out the other products featured in the Red Envelope Inspiration Market including the Eco-pillows by Alexandra Ferguson that were spotlighted here on GetMarried earlier this year! I told you they were cool...
Cheers!

There is definite power in the flower this year.
As Claude Monet once said,
{ I must have flowers. Always and always. }
I am in OBSESSED with all of the flowers popping up across fashion, home decor and of course, weddings! From bold to ditsy to watercolor to bontanical. Fresh, flirty and fun!

The annual bridal collection from the nail polish powerhouse, Essie is available in April 2013 and I got a sneak peek!
No Baggage Please - a positively rosy pink
My Better Half - an irresistible peony pink

Using My Maiden Name - a pretty blue hydrangea
Just like with my better half, when you find the one you know!
Cheers!

I'm a huge fan of the bow tie. I'm even known to don one myself every now and then. So while at Indie Wed in Chicago earlier this month, I was a bit giddy when I stumbled upon DiBi Ties.
The fabric choices are divine...awesome textures of corduroy, seersucker, herringbone and plaids that made me weak in the knees. I love a good tie...
and the cuff link collection is way cool. That emerald set is PERFECT.
But this lifestyle company is much cooler than the ties and accessories alone.
I loved meeting the founder and designer (and cutie!) Daniel Bruce. So cool in the most unassuming way.

Not only was he passionate about his designs but also eager to share how he pays it forward with the DiBi Foundation. Portions of the proceeds from DiBi Ties goes to the DiBi Foundation where teaching kits are purchased and provided to rural communities around the world. Who doesn't love that?!?
P.s. I even saw Channing Tatum sporting a DiBi Tie on the GQ Men of the Year cover. Told you it was good stuff all around.
Cheers!

If it's raining, if it's pouring...and even if it's not, I LOVE these Missoni umbrellas!
The kaleidoscope of colors is inspiring and hypnotic...and down-right stunning. Italian-made, these parasols are a worthy accessory rain or shine!
I found these on a recent HauteLook event sale but various patterns can be found at a number of Missoni retailers including Saks, Neiman Marcus and Sierra Trading Post.
Cheers!

I love Fashion Week about as much as I love ponies (which is alot!) It is definitely on my bucket list of things to do in this wonderful lifetime...
Not only are the collections, the music, the sets and the people watching full of inspiration and ridiculous creativity...I love how that same energy is captured in the designers invitations to their shows. Getting one of these in my mailbox would be squeal-worthy!
Here are a few curated by Refinery29 that caught my eye and could be oh-so coolly translated into an invitation to any chic wedding, save the date or dinner party. (Okay maybe not exactly the petrie dish by Mathieu Mirano but it is cool and you get the gist...)
Now if only we could all RSVP to one of these fine shows?!? In the meantime, think beyond the runway and jump ahead of the curve with invitations so chica!
Cheers!

Brrr....being from the Midwest and in the heart of winter, one skill i think everyone should refine is the best way to layer clothes like a Pro.
The worst thing you can do is add bulk...EEK! Who needs to look or feel any thicker...you just need to be warm and chic!
Check out this great video from FabSugar...starring an adorable model from MN (naturally!) But my most burning question is...where can I find all of these cute boots!?!
Cheers!

Home is where the heart is...
Or where your Home T says it is! There is nothing better than a great tee. And I think these would be so adorable for a Save the Date or engagement photo as each shows off their state pride!

Started in a small one-bedroom apartment in NYC...The Home T literally is shipped from their home to yours. Check here for additional states and countries currently available.
Better yet, a portion of the proceeds go to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and earmarked specifically for research.
Cheers!

Meet hiip San Francisco.
There's nothing I love more than discovering passionate, creative and just down right good people. And this is exactly what I found when I met Nicole, owner/founder of hiip San Francisco, in the pop-up shop at The Lab Event last weekend in Sonoma. Instant cool...and wait 'til you see her bags and hear the hiip story.
hiip launched with a mission to spread change in San Francisco. Inspired by the TOMS business model of one-for-one, for every hiip bag that's purchased, a hiip kit in donated to a homeless person in need. The hiip kit is filled with everyday essentials. hiip encourages those who are in San Francisco area to join her on hiip handouts. I love her desire to give back while helping build the community through purposeful interactions.
hiip styles feature names from the San Francisco Bay area...and there is truly something for everyone. So hard to decide!
So wear some charity and you will not only look great but you feel great. Just think...by buying a cute new handbag, you can help participate in changing the situation for a community.
Cheers!

Meet Sheer Addiction.
It is bold. It is feminine. It is sophisticated. It is addictive. It is stunning.
I first discovered Sheer Addiction at the Junk Bonanza and now I find myself quite frequently browsing their online shop to hold me over until the next Junk Bonanza. It's definitely a happy place for me!

With Bridal Fashion Week in New York last week, I am giddy with all the images from the runway as designers reveal their collections for Fall 2013.
While designers have shown some pretty crazy collections in the past, Vera Wang may have seemed to shock the most with the least shocking color of all...ivory. No black or crimson.
And lace was everywhere! The collection from Claire Pettibone may be one of the freshest to hit the runway and one of my favorites. The embroidery, ribbons and splash of color made for the most divine of details.
Trends rising to the top seem to include...
{lace overlays, sleeves, bold headpieces, hints of colors,
illusion necklines (my fave!) and allover sequins.}
Way hard to narrow down but here a few of my initial favorites down the runway...
Overall, I get a sense of understated quality while still opulent and beautiful.
Lucky brides.
Cheers!

The perfect mix of refined style + modern chic.
I fell in love and cannot resist these adorable embroidered statement necklaces by Zelma Rose.
With color combinations inspired by Martha Stewart's color palettes coupled with hand embroidery, these not only make THE cutest bridesmaid or mother-of-the-bride gifts but truly become an heirloom piece.
Zelma Rose's shop on Etsy also features equally cool lockets, geometric, constellation and cross-stitched statement necklaces. Don't forget the trending pocket squares and bow tie boutonnieres for the guys!

And Zelma Rose is a FINALIST in the Martha Stewart's American Made Awards...so cool and deservedly-so! You can see her profile here.
Cheers!
