Wedding Centerpiece Ideas

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 03, 2009
JP452

A wedding centerpiece is the most important part of any wedding. Your guests will spend the majority of their time sitting at the table and because of this they will spend a lot of time looking at the centerpiece. Therefore you want to take the time to make a wedding centerpiece that they will enjoy and that you can be proud of. A centerpiece that I have always enjoyed and have personally used is one with fish. There are many ways to incorporate fish into the centerpiece. For instance, you could place them in vases that hold flowers; you could place them in a bowl with decorative features, or you could do as I did and have a few fish in a bowl and a man on top “ice fishing.” You could of course go for the more traditional flowers in a vase, but why not spruce them up a bit. Instead of a plain vase why not decorate some mason jars and use those. Or you could do flowers submerged in water and have floating candles.

I’ve seen centerpieces with submerged flowers and floating candles, but never actual fish. That would definitely be a creative and unexpected touch. I’m not sure what you could do with them after the wedding though, unless guests wanted to take them home.

I love the idea of submerged flowers with floating candles...am hoping to incorporate that into my own centerpieces somehow.
