Wedding Color Scheme

THURSDAY, JULY 23, 2009
M-I-S-S TO M-R-S.

As most of you know the biggest problem I've been having so far is finding a color scheme for my wedding. And for some reason I can't really seem to pick a color I can be satisfied with and not regret several days later. At times I wish I would just close my eyes and pick a color off a chart and let that be done with.

But sadly--I can't do that. I want dramatic colors, something that will be unique, classy/elegant--and remembered by everyone there. Maybe after viewing some of these choices you guys (well gals) can help me out. Because Lord knows I need it.

I have been looking into a whole new color scheme and I think I have narrowed down my choices. I have chosen colors that are dramatic, subtle---and contrast one another for an eye-popping color scheme that I think will go perfect with our October wedding. Most people think I am doing a fall theme--but just because my wedding is in October does not mean it's a fall theme. Honestly I hate the fall theme--it's kinda rustic and country to me.

But anywho---here we go..........

1. Lime+Pink+Blush

2. Silver+Merlot+Pearl

3. Pink + Blush+Silver

4. Violet+Lilac+Orange (or Lime)

5. Magenta+Lilac+Lime

6. Robins Egg+ Pearl+Silver/Silver+Pearl+Violet (a little more subtle than what I like by FH loves boring colors)

Some other wonderful colors that I know you'll love:

One of the biggest problems I'm having is with FH. He's not a bright color person. For example--we are in the process of looking for furniture. He wants either brown or tan. Eeww. I want red, blue, black. He doesn't like loud bright colors. He is very subdued when it comes to some things. And the wedding is no exception. His favorite color is blue. And I would love more than anything to incorporate blue into the wedding. But you know what they..........can't please everybody.

Hello M-I-S-S TO M-R-S.!

Thank you so much for featuring my inspiration boards!

The merlot/sangria/cranberry theme is VERY, very popular right now. I am afraid it maybe headed to be over done.

I LOVE "Born to be Mrs. Beever's" color scheme! It is fun, unexpected but STILL elegant!

Have fun and BEST wishes to you all!

Hopefully you've stopped by the Perfect Palette for a dose of color inspiration? It's full of custom inspiration boards that I've created for other brides to be. You can even search by color :) Good luck finding your perfect palette!

I like the sound of the Silver+Merlot+Pearl color scheme - that sounds beautiful. I don't think you should pull the Pearl out; I think what you should do is try to incorporate some Blue in there for the FH. My fiancee is also a plain jane when it comes to color. If the planning was left to him I would only have one color - WHITE. I have four colors that I chose to go with our vintage theme.

I am leaning towards Silver/Merlot/Pearl (i may change the pearl to another color). Mrs. Beever I love your colors schemes those are absolutely beautiful. Wonderful inspiration.

I agree with you about the fall colors...not my thing either. And I am having the same problem with my fiance. He thinks our spring (April) wedding has patriotic 4th of July colors but no one else I talk to thinks that at all. I LOVE my color scheme and since mine is an aqua/turquoise with a deep cranberry red color, I'm gonna have to say try to please FH with the light aqua scheme. It's my fave by far!

Here is an example of my own inspirational colors which led me to my color scheme and ideas for my own wedding of which I will now go and blog since you got me thinking about it:

And btw, I am a firm believer in doing the 'unexpected' when it comes to weddings so as much as it might be taboo, go with whatever colors you want regardless of weather or season! Let us know what you choose (and hopefully it will be something FH likes - unlike mine...he just caved and let me have it).

Well personally, I like the violet, merlot schemes. The pink and lime are a little light for fall, but can still be incorporated somewhere if you like. There are variations to any color. Just choose the darker hues and you'll be fine. Time to decide.
