We finally got our engagement photos done last week!
It was so much fun. We met our photographers at they're studio in downtown Portland, and just walked around the area using colorful buildings and interesting architecture as our backdrop. We finally made it down to the waterfront and got great pictures with the skyline behind us.
We also managed to time it just right we ended the shoot a few feet in front of a moving train which was a PERFECT, it really captured how I'm feeling right now! Caught up in a crazy frenzy or school, work, moving, and planning!!!!
PICTURES TO COME SOON!!!!
Mr. Julian and I are going to be married under a beautiful tree just outside of Portland Oregon. I wanted to be outside under the summer sun, but more importantly, I wanted to dance allllllll night long! When I began looking, I was easily frustrated. There were tons of parks and out door venues, however they were like a blank canvas. We're on kind of a tight budget, so the idea of bringing a caterer in, renting tables, chairs, linens, china, stemware, flatware, and decorations on top of all of it all was WAY out of our budget.
It took a few months, but we finally realized exactly what we were looking for, was really, right in front of our eyes! There is a chain of restaurants in the northwest that has a wonderful whimsical fee - and they take care of almost everything for us. The tables, chairs, linens, and dinnerware were all included. They provide servers at no cost, and the property is already decorated! The best part of the decorations is not only are they pre-set, they are EXACTLY what i wanted to begin with, Italian lights strung eeeverywhere.
As you walk onto the property, you are greeted with this veeery helpful sign! I love it, right off the bat you begin to realize this isn't going to be your every day wedding!
We will then be married under this lovley tree... <3
We will be entering and exiting here. This looks more like an early spring/fall wedding. It should be a little more lush and green by June. Either way, it has a wonderful rustic feel.
Again with the cute signs!
Dinner will be right here, and will hopefully run into sunset. The Italian lights are so cute out here! Around the corner from the barn is a fire pit with picnic tables, and a cigar & whisky shed. Both are open to the public, but will be available to us as well. So cute!
Finally, a sneak peek into the barn where we will be dancing the night away! Incidentally, this is also where we had our high school grad-night!
It is such a wonderful place, I can't wait!!! It's truly going to be a fairytale..
Until next time!

It all kind of hit me today!
Patrick proposed November 19th, right before my birthday and the holidays (my favorite time of year!). We knew we wanted to get married in the summer, however we are applying to graduate school for this fall, so it was now or never. After all the hustle and bustle was over, the wedding shows began, and we attended them all! We quickly booked a venue for June 19th this summer, and started to check off some major items from the list.
I purchased my dress the first time we went shopping, and at the first store. I have been dreaming of this day since I was in the womb, like I'm sure many of you... and the dress wasn't really something I was willing to compromise on. I did have my limits, I think going way overboard on something you're going to wear once, is a bit ridiculous, however, the "dream dress" wasn't out of the question. It was a lazy Sunday, I wasn't on a mission to find my dress that day. I actually had my heart set on one I found online, that only one boutique in my area carried - so I wasn't really going in with high hopes.
Its funny, because my mom and I have watched Say Yes to the Dress for the past couple of seasons, and one thing we hate is how brides go in and try on 3 dresses and are expected to find "the one." I didn't think there was any way that would be me. I'd have to try on at least 100 - I had to have THE PERFECT dress of course! And how do you do that by trying on 3? Well, I don't know if I just got lucky, or if the consultants can really "read" you all that well...
But when I put it on... I knew it was the one.
I love it. it is perfect, and is the essence of me.
