Now that our wedding is rapidly approaching we're starting to see gifts come in everyday :) It's so exciting to see all items we scanned months ago pilling up in our house! Actually a lot of the things I feel in love with are starting to be sold out/discontinued... Luckily we're still able to get this stuff online and in the store.
My Fiance and I decided not to get formal china and just get a great everyday set we could use all the time. Not to mention we would have no room to store china and would rather registry for more useful items like awesome appliances. I couldn't be happier with this collection from Crate & Barrel. I love the textures~

The place settings are Japanese tea pot inspired and the rims are covered in little raised bumps - Tamiko 5 Piece Placesetting w/Low Bowl.
The flatware is the opposite effect, a hammered stainless steel - Mesa 5 Piece Placesetting.
Has anyone else just registered for everyday "china"? If so, where from?
Here is a picture of the two pieces together :)

Ahh~ my wedding is in less than a month and I'm scrambling to get all my accessories! My dress is pretty simple so I wanted to make sure I had some nice accessories to dress it up. Here are some of my awesome finds...
Super pretty hair clips and pins I bought from Banana Republic:

Snowflake Hairclip & All-season sparkle bobby pins (cz)
What I really like about these is that they look wintery without screaming - SNOWFLAKES!
For my shoes I thought this clip matched nicely with the crystal shapes in the hair pins...

Eva (crystal) shoe clips from Absolutely Audrey will go on these classic Abby (1 inch white heels) from Quality Bridal Shoes.
I feel like these clips will give the perfect amount of bling to the shoes!
So I'm on my way with making my wedding invitations! I've gone back and forth about what to do with them and I finally decided to get all the special touches I wanted without the extra expensive price tag by doing it myself. :)
I recently found an awesome store called, Paper Source. This is where I bought all of my paper for the invitations including the cards, envelopes and envelope liners. The one thing I really wanted was a nice thick paper and I hated to risk that with a less expensive invitation. I was also in love with embossed print but having that done was simply too expensive. By buying the paper and printing them myself (on my friend's awesome ink-jet printer mind you...) I saved a bunch of money and still got the look I was going for.
The most expensive part of my invitations are the gorgeous liners. There are less expensive solid colored liners that were great but I totally fell in love with the White Swirls Platinum Vellum Envelope Liners. This pattern continues the dot theme I'm loving (more about that later...) and it says winter/starry night which is perfect for my December wedding and doesn't shout "Christmas!". Since the paper itself was a great deal I was OK with spending more on the liners. I bought the liners pre-cut but you can save even more by cutting them yourself with a template. I took me an hour or so to glue in 50+ liners... not bad!
I also went a head and got on a really handy Desk Embosser which I bought a customized return address plate to use on the backs of all my envelopes. I'm thrilled with the effect but the embosser itself isn't a very sturdy product. The pin holding the handle on slips in and out so I'll be returning it to get a new one.
Here are some images of the envelope in progress... The A9 sized outer envelopes are the gravel color and the paper is eco-white.
more later.... including the invitation design, RSVP design and monogram I created :)
Hi Everyone! I wanted to share these cute stamps I saw at the post office! I think they're perfect for Save the Dates and Invitations and they're not the standard heart or ring stamps you might expect :) Noticed the little "love" script at the bottom. I'm totally using them for my Save the Dates!
You can buy them online at the USPS store, here
I was just checking out my favorite blogs and I had to share these absolutely stunning wedding photos with everyone! As I mentioned in my last post I have the most talented wedding photographers on the planet, Our Labor of Love :) These guys are shooting amazing wedding after amazing wedding and I'm so thrilled they'll be at my wedding this December!
These photos are so beautiful that I'm kinda jealous I'm not having an Indian wedding... and the party didn't stop for 3 days! Wow!
Enjoy & be inspired :)

See the entire post HERE and you really must! This selection of photos does not do it justice. I promise you'll be amazed.
I'm so excited! I've found my dream photographer right here in Atlanta!!! Their name is Our Labor of Love and they're comprised of husband and wife team, Whitney & Jesse Chamberlin.
When we started to budget out our wedding I knew if I found an awesome photographer it would be well worth the money. Having beautiful, meaningful photographers from our wedding was one of my top priorities. Since I have an art school background I wanted to find a wedding photographer who had a different perspective and was passionate about making each photo into a work of art. Not only are Whitney and Jesse my dream photographers, they are super friendly and laid back. My fiancé and I aren't the hammy type to pose for photos so I feel like their style works well with our personalities in addition to our taste. I completely trust their judgment and I'm at ease knowing they'll take all the amazing photos I never knew my heart desired :)
I couldn't be happier! Everyone should check out their work on their website or blog (which is updated frequently with all the amazing weddings they shoot).
Here are just a few of the gorgeous, dreamy shots I love!

What do you guys think?? Amazing, right?
In my last blog I posted pictures of the burgundy/wine/aubergine/ bridesmaids dresses that I thought would make nice accent colors to my white winter wedding. Now I'm looking around for inspiration for all the rest, including my bouquet and the cake. Here are some winter-ish cakes and flowers that caught my eye.
I definitely want a simple, all white cake and I'm loving these fun, dotted cakes below. I also love the look of cake that has the snow-like shavings but it reminds me of coconut or white chocolate white which are flavors I don't really care for :(
When it comes to flowers I want simple again. I'm thinking about using one or two different types of flowers that are big, white and soft for my bouquet. I really like how delicate the first bouquet is but I love big blooms like peonies and ranunculus.

the cakes with dots (top right and bottom left) are from The Cake Girls & the first bouquet is from with the cameo ribbon is from Rebecca Thuss' site. Sorry, but I'm not sure where the other images are from!
Jenn's most recent post reminded me I had some color ideas of my own :)
Since I'm having a December wedding I'm trying to pick colors that are not only seasonally appropriate but go with the holiday decorations that our venue will be displaying. These "holiday decorations" are pretty tasteful from what I've seen and I've been told there won't be any Santas or Snowmen popping up (lol). This past December they used a lot of red ribbons so I thought whatever colors I picked should go well with or be close to red.
I think (at least I hope I don't change my mind again) that I'll go with a "winter berry" color theme and use a range of red and aubergine colors to accent shades of white.
I'm having three bridesmaids and I'd like them all to wear a different color and different style of dress. I want them to be able to pick a dress they like and will be able to wear again.
So here are the colors combos I'm thinking about using for the bridesmaid dresses...

Images from: Jim Hjelm collection
and some more bridesmaid dress colors I like from the Kristy Kelly for Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings Collection...

The first two in the second image may be a little too purple but I love how well these colors go together :)
Hi Blogger Brides! So... it's been a while forever since my last post but I'm finally getting into the swing of things with the whole wedding planning process. My Fiance and I have been enjoying the engaged life for over a year now and decided we should get our butts moving and start planning :)
The first and only big news for now is that we booked our venue! After going back and forth for months between a wedding in the North Georgia mountains or wedding in Atlanta we finally went with the convenience of having it close to home and closer to the airport (for our out of town guests). I couldn't be happier... It's called Flint Hill.
Our wedding will be in early December (which we all know is not the peak season to have a wedding) so it really helps us still stick to our budget by taking advantage of the winter discounts. I love this place! It's got tons of charm and they've been around for a long time.
We also chose them because they're known for their great food. I worked in catering for a while so I know how important the food is during the reception. Yay I can't wait to pick out the menu~ They have a lot of great choices and I know it will all be delicious.
So here it is!

The pictures are all from their website. One thing I really love about this place is all the lights in the trees. We're also hoping for an outdoor ceremony as long as it's not too cold (come on Hotlanta~! give me one of your warm December days!!)
Here are so more pictures that I took of the inside and of the back. I snapped them really quick so they aren't as gorgeous as the pictures above...

Anyways... I love it! I promise to blog more now that I'm actually planning! This weekend I'm going dress shopping and I'm also looking for photographers now... so we'll see how that goes! :)
