I have been stressing working on my music list for around a year now. I am so incredibly picky about music it is not even funny. One of my first ever blogs on this site was about this very thing. I received an extremely helpful response to that blog... but it has taken me this long to even get where I am and I still have blanks to fill. Pray for me, ya'll! Seriously.
As of right now, this is what it is looking like for us:
Ceremony
Prelude – (My favorite Classical piece and some great Irish trad's)
Moonlight Sonata
Carolan’s Dream
Carolan’s Welcome
Roisin Dubh (instrumental)
Bridal Party Entrance-
Better Together - Jack Johnson
Bride's Entrance-
Fields of Gold (Eva Cassidy Version) - Vocals by my BM, Mandi and Acoustic Guitar by Hubby's Groomsman, David
Interlude, Post Prayer-
Born Again - Third Day (This is a maybe.)
Recessional-
(I have absolutely no idea whatsoever!!!!)
Reception
Entrance- (Again, no clue)
Cake Cutting-
You're Everything - Michael Buble
Bouquet Toss- (Prepare for Ms. Unoriginal who thought she was original, but I can't seem to get away from this song 'cause I love it and it is kinda a thing with me and sis-in-law/BM, Julia.)
Single Ladies - Beyonce
Garter Toss-
Just a Gigolo - David Lee Roth (Maybe... but Hubby and I both love it and it is one of only two songs I actually LIKE to hear Hubby sing... and it is hilarious and kinda on point. Single fellas, catch the garter, get married, don't be a "sad and lonely" playa' anymore. BTW, if you go to the video in the link... skip all the crazy intro and go straight to 1:37 for the song.)
First Dance-
Pride and Joy - Stevie Ray Vaughan
Last Dance-
Dance With Me Now, Darling - Hem
Other songs I love and would like to incorporate but have no idea how to:
Heaven – Bryan Adams
Two Is Better – Boys like Girls and Taylor Swift
Angel – Jack Johnson
Son of a Preacher Man – Dusty Springfield
Lovesong – the cure
Ache – James Carrington
Ain’t No Other Man – Christina Aquilera
So, guys... what do you think... Am I insane? Any ideas? Is this going to be a huge mess of mish mashed stuff that will drive folks up the wall? Excuse me while I plant my face firmly onto my desk. Just remember while you look at these... words matter as much if not more to me than the sound. However, I also realize that I am probably the only one that will really listen to words the majority of the time.
Thank you to everyone that weighed in on my tie dilemma. You guys are the best! I always know where to come when I need real opinions and advice on my big event.
Now... back to my Inspiration Board "series". Check out the latest one I cooked up based on my favorite gem, the sapphire. It also happens to be Hubby's and my birthstone as well as the stone of our anniversary month and renewal day. Yeah, we like September.

Check out the Sapphire blue wedding gown and the gorgeous gems and bouquets! This would be an event that would cause jealousy, no doubt. Elegant and blinged out... what more does a girl need?
Inspired by Ms. Oliver's post, I thought I might give ya'll a glimpse into my head and also attempt to glean some opinions from the wealth of fabulosity on this board. Just as I am buying my girls jewelry that they will wear on my big day and keep forever as a memento and keepsake, so we will also be purchasing our groomsmen's ties as their gift. (We are also having them wear their own solid blue suits. Some of them would see that as a gift as well. LOL) I have found a GREAT site that has a wealth of variety and an easily searchable database to boot for any and all our tie choosing needs. Not to mention their prices are very budget friendly. www.thetiebar.com Check it out, you'll thank me. ;) Now here is where I need opinions... There are too many choices! I have narrowed it down to the following four with a possible extra option. HELP! Could we perhaps take a vote?

Thank you, PinkLoveBird, for the second Sugar Doll award nod. :D I tried to escape boring you all with my facts the first time... but perhaps I can come up with something fun to tell you guys. I suppose that would be subjective.I am just tickled pink, purple and blue that you guys are getting from my quirky ponderings and additions to the site.

That said... here are my ten facts:
Whew! There you go! I hope these were interesting enough for you guys. :D Now for my super props to some of the coolest blogger brides chics out there!!!!

You guys are always bringing something new and inspiring to the blog. I always look forward to seeing your posts!
To add to what is becoming a series of inspiration blogs from me... here is my creation to celebrate one of my favorite style icons, Ms. Grace Kelly.

When I think of the Wedding of Kelly and Rainier, I picture elegance, softness and opulence. I also think of her huge sparkler. ;) No one was ever created to be a princess so much as Princess Grace.
First let me say THANK YOU to Bi_Coastal Bride for giving me props in her last post. I am so honored that you feel I (among others) have inspired and encouraged you! Thank you. :D
Also, in the spirit of further fun inspiration, (and since I last posted my rustic style) I thought I might post an inspriation board I created for the more off beat, left of center style bride.

All but one of these photos were seized from Google Images. That one lone soul was plucked from a VERY cool wedding photog called Tinywater. If you like unusual, journalistic but stylized photography and are considering going that direction for your wedding, it is a MUST SEE!
As the weather gets ever cooler and the colors of fall are fading away, I want to hold on to the season just a little while longer. Constantly prowling the internet for images of bridal trends and images helps feed that desire. I found these on Google Images and thought I'd share them, just in case you guys are feeling the same.
I really love the touches of birch bark and the rustic, but modern way that this decor is carried out. It almost makes me want to leave behind my milk glass idea... almost.
Maybe I could incorporate this look into what I am already doing though? This look is totally DIY! I could do each of these project with relative ease and save money by using "gathered" items instead of buying. Plus, the walks in the woods and on Hubby's family farm to gather up the stuff would be a great bonus!

Don't you just adore the cake "stand"? How fun, simple, yet totally chic is that?! I think this look mixed with my vintage milk glass dreams would make for an etheral, but touchable mix and make for some great pics! Now... If I could only get settled on my lighting!

Here is another amazing artisan from www.etsy.com! I love this esthetic. It is a little off beat, very high quality and uber fashion forward. Is this a "budget buy"? Um, no. But there are times when a girl is willing to SPLURGE!

I love, love, love the idea of the flower girl wand! How adorable (and much cleaner) would it be to give the little pixie one of those and just let her flit down the aisle versus sprinkling petals all over the place? Not to mention the fact that it is a built in gift she can hold on to. The "bloom" measures 20'' in diameter, so it will definately make a statement.
We all want a little (or big) something that sets our event off as something different, something memorable. And I will stick my neck out and say that most of us want that wow factor to not break the bank. I am acheiving that goal with a LOT of DIY and good friends with great skills. Still, there are certain things that I have stumbled upon surfing the net that have become must haves. My garters, a vintage brooch for the bow on the back of my dress, possibly the old fashioned candy straws from Hammonds Candies to put into the sweet tea at the reception...

And last night I stuled upon a GREAT little site that got me all kinds of excited! It is called Smarty Had a Party and I could not believe some of the things I found on there! If I were supplying all of the dishes, drinkware and etc.'s I would totally use this site. As it is, I am probably going to get these adorable little stirrers from them no matter what. They could be used in the glasses or as skewers for the appetizers. What a neat little detail!

This place has a little of everything... from table linens and cake pedestals to favors and floating candles! They have unique plating options and a gallery of photos for ideas. The vast majority of the offerings on the site are disposable too, so that will be a BIG help with cleanup. Although not everything on there is going to be perfect for every person or event, it is definitely worth looking at. It may just be a great way to be you, on a budget!
I have been on a mad hunt since day one to find the perfect shoes. I am VERY picky when it comes to that, so I have been turning up empty. On a whim, I began searching the David's Bridal website, even though I didn't like anything they had in their store when I bought my dress. Here are the possibilities I uncovered:
For me, to be dyed green:

For the girls, to match the copper in their jewelry:

Now, I put the girls' shoes in order of my preference and I would want them to match. What do you guys think? Is there one you like best? I think the first is the most likely to be worn again, but the last two are more exact to the color the copper in the jewelry I am having made. I am not going to go out and buy right this minute, but this is the best I have found so far... especially when I add in cost as a factor.
