The choosing of a venue is turning into a very stressful event. We can't set a date until we have a venue and caterer. My first choice is still a possibility, but proving to be more expensive than I would like. The next choice is the most cost effective thus far, but I have some questions and need to meet with their event coordinator. The next option, which is two blocks from our house, I'm calling their event coordinator today to check out their options. Neither of us want to do the ceremony in a "city setting." We would like foliage and gardens and a sort of "woodsy" feeling, but classy at the same time. Does that make sense? The Hermitage Museum would be amazing, it's the best of both worlds, beautiful gardens and grounds and on the water, but not two hours away. However, it's about $2500 just for the event time, that doesn't include food or anything, and you have to be a donor, which we are considering if it comes with a hefty discount. The problem with this area, there are TOO MANY options and unless your budget is much larger than mine, not many are affordable.
We are also limited to the month we can get married. Due to various other events, many months of the year are elminated due to personal reasons or because in my mind it just won't be as nice as other months. Fortunately, we both agree on the month. Yay!
How did you choose when and where you would tie the knot?
