On February 14, 2008 Ken proposed to me and I said, "Yes!"So now what?
Hmmm ... Am I up for planning a wedding? I should feel totally excited but for some reason it's a bit overwhelming. Why? I think it's because due to geography we know we will not be able to please everyone on our guest list ... and I'm a total "pleaser" so that's very stressful to me.
We don't have any immediate family here in Texas. Ken's grandparents and two of his uncles are about 3 hours away and his sister's in Louisiana about 7 hours from here. Other than that pretty much everyone (in both our families) is in California - mine Southern and his Central.
We both have children from our previous marriages (5 total - my 3 and his 2) ranging in age from 6-13 and we know we want them to not only attend but to be involved in our ceremony.
Eloping to someplace fabulous seems like a good option! LOL ... We'd have to take all 5 kids - and then we'd have to take someone with us to watch them so we could have some alone time. Not a bad option at all - I'll give it some thought. *SmiLes* Suzanne
After you got engaged did you have any dilemmas about where to have the wedding? Have you resolved it? If so, what did you decide on?
On Valentine's Day, 2008, Ken asked me to marry him ... and I said, "Yes!"

It wasn't a total surprise as I had some idea it was coming ... but I was blown away by the way he proposed.
We had a babysitter lined up so we could go to dinner and while I was in my room getting ready ... Ken sent each kid in (yes ... all 5!) with a rose to present to me ... one at a time ... with Austin last he escorted me out to the living room where Ken dropped to his knee and showered me with compliments and asked me to be his wife.
I was so impressed that he would include our kids as this is just as important to them as it is to us. I'm excited and proud of my new fiancé and my beautiful ring.
I'm all *SmiLes*

Hi ... I'm so excited to meet and mingle with other brides-to-be and share ideas and help each other out with our wedding plans. Ken and I are getting married at the gorgeous Dreams Tulum in Mexico (Riviera Maya) on June 30, 2009 ... and we can't wait! We have 5 children (my 3 and his 2) who will be in our ceremony and we will exchange vows on the beach with some of our closest friends and family members.
I've had so much fun researching and learning all about destination weddings ... in fact so much that I've started a website dedicated to helping others learn all they can about destination weddings, "The Destination Wedding Site," ... so I hope you'll stop by there and read, share, take a poll or two ... and just make new friends.
Let me know if I can help you in any way! *SmiLes* Suzanne
