With a beach wedding, a heel will sink unless heel protectors are purchased; wedges may work or we can go barefoot. I am leaning towards foot jewelry for myself but am having a hard time deciding on what the bridesmaids should wear. My bridesmaid dresses are knee-length (if that matters at all???).
Has anyone had any experience with heels or wedges in the beach vs. foot jewelry? Any insight would be very much appreciated :~)
Thanks so much!!
With having a destination wedding, I am very careful not to ask much more financially of my bridesmaids and groomsmen if at possible; beyond the basics. Of course, if we had the money we would foot the expense for everyone's trip but that's not possible. Once I found my dress, the store offered 20% off for the bridesmaid dresses. Naturally, we had to find a dress at the store.
Bridesmaid dress is below. I was really sure of these things for the Bridesmaid dress: wanted a knee or tea-length dress, a flowly dress (one BMaid may be a few months preggers by October!) and I wanted a dress they could wear again. Thanks to Jordan Fashions for this great dress. The challenge is this, dresses must be ordered on May 18th. They have until the 16th to get measured and pay for the dress. A three month turn around leave the dresses coming back mid-August and we fly out on September 29th. Only 1 out of the 5 Bridesmaids has been measured & paid. The funny things is 3 of my girls have been married and know about the deadlines for dresses, etc. I've tried the friendly email and phone reminders about the deadline...any suggestions on what else I can do to get a fire under their butt to get to the Bridal Store before the 16th?

I am finally going to put some info in here, lol!
It's always been hard for me to talk a lot about myself. Here it goes!
I am 31, will be 32 when I get married. I love to travel and truly love the beach. Of course I wanted to combine the 2 for our special day. Lucky for me, my fiance loves the beach as much as I do and it wasn't a hard sell. We are getting married in Antigua on October 3, 2009 on the beach at 4 pm. Small ceremony and a small guest list...we wanted to make sure the day was about us and the commitment to each other. We want to have a nice celebration when we get back.
I am the planner, I love to make lists. Criss is the anti-planner. Trying to get things done in my time frame can be challenging with an anti-planner, believe me!
We are in the process of renovating our old bungalow built in 1929 together, on top of planning a reception and preparing for our trip, we always stay busy!!
That's a quick glimpse into our lives as of right now...of course tomorrow will be different :)
