We have all heard the rhyme on the collection of items that are considered lucky for a bride to take to her wedding:
Something old, something new
Something borrowed, something blue
My Fiance's mom gave me my something old and something blue. I have been wondering, are we allowed to use the same item for two categories? She gave me this beautiful antique handkerchief.
These pictures don't even do it justice and I am realizing I might need to get a new camera before the wedding! Haha.
Now I just need something borrowed and am hoping for Grandma's diamond earings (ooooh)...
When we started planning our wedding and thinking about attendants, flowers, caterers, etc. we wondered how we could integrate our family and their talents into making as many aspects of our wedding unique to us.
My Grandmother on my Fathers side excells at many things so we thought we would enlist her to make our Flower Girls Basket and Ring Bearer Pillow. She has completed them now and I just adore them:

I think having the ability to create potential heirlooms and keepsakes is one of the things I love most about wedding planning.
Our invitations are signed, sealed and ready to be delivered (a little early). Invitations traditionally go out two months before your big day so we have 9 more days before we can drop them in the mail. I am so excited to have the guest list finally finalized and our invitations all ready to go. After 10 months of planning, this feels lie an enormous milestone.
We have had our eyes on these Crane invitations since we got engaged and they even dictated what our wedding colors would be. My Fiance and his family owned a great little stationary store for about 10 years so the only thing he has really had much of an opinion on was the invitations. Apparently he had a pattern in mind before he even showed me the books. Fortunately our tastes are so similar that the pattern I loved happened to be the same he did.
Yay! I'm so excited!
I'm the type of girl who will go to the gym for a few months, burn out, take a break for 6 months, then go back to the gym for a few months, burn out, etc. So when I hit the 90 day make on the wedding countdown I knew it was time to hit the gym and start eating better.
I found out about the Brides Made Fit podcasts by Jenny Didonato and absolutely love them. I watch them on my iPhone while I'm on the treadmill and then do the suggested toning work out after.

Jenny is a certified personal trainer in Metro Detroit, Michigan but thanks to the wonderful world of online communitation I can learn from her here in California!
Jenny combines experience, knowledge, and love for health and fitness to deliver helpful information in a fun way. She wants everyone to see that managing a healthy lifestyle can be fun, convenient, and lifelong — and not complicated and shallow like infomercials and magazines make it out to be.
Her videos cover everything from strength training and cardio, to nutrition and exercise myths. She also review products to inform you of what works and what doesn’t!
I have really enjoyed learning from Jenny and wanted to share. She has even been really responsive to my emails and questions so I have essentially been getting free training. You can see her videos and tips at BridesMadeFit.com and follow her on Twitter here: twitter.com/JennyDiDonato
I also post recipe and wedding planning tips (as well as interesting tech news) on my Twitter here: twitter.com/SeanaSullivan
When looking for save the dates or invitations for your wedding, bridal shower or bachelorette party we can get a little overwhelmed. There are so many options out there: traditional, high quality, evites, basic, etc. Just like every other decision to be made in wedding planning it seems the possibilities are endless.
Well, I wanted to share another option with you and this one blew me out of the water. I am a sucker for art and when I heard about the talent of Matthew McGowan from Two Sevens I was intrigued.
Matthew is a local artist out of San Francisco, California and he has a really spectacular talent. Not only is he a phenominal painter and has had multiple successful shows in the city he also has a great eye for design. I wanted to share a few invitations he has done for a few people I know and encourage you to consider him for your invitations.

Above is a Save the Date he did for a wedding in San Francisco.

A seriously fun bachelorette party invitation.

And one of the cutest shower invitations I have ever seen.
As you can see he's got a greateye for color and detail.
Matthew is also a painter and currently his work is japanese and tattoo inspired. You can see some of his latest at TwoSevens.com
You can also contact him through his website if you're interested in getting more invitations about logos, invitations, unique monograms or anything else!
So, my friend Molly, who is getting married in May, mentioned to me that she and her Fiance were thinking about registering for their honeymoon rather than a bunch of gifts and I decided I wanted both!
We ended up looking all around the web for the right site to host our honeymoon funds but they all wanted to charge us a percentage of what we made & we just didn't think that was fair. I mean, in this economy, 10% of $5k is a lot. Especially when it comes to foreign travel. When we finally found HoneyFund.com we got really excited. Honeyfund.com will host your honeymoon wish list without charging you anything. From time to time they ask for a donation if you haven't already contributed to their service and even then they only ask for what you can afford. Nice, right?

I love it, my wedding is a little over 2 months away and I hope my friends and family check this out! When they do they will see the welcome we made (above) and then as they scroll down they will see the honeymoon outline and registry (below). Once they go to your HoneyFund they can decide on which aspects of the honeymoon they want to help you with whether its a wine tour, massage, night out dancing, hotel room or even just a train ride! You can even hook your account up to PayPal so people can donate right into your bank account!.

Jonathan and I are going to Portugal and thanks to our honeymoon registry we will be able to enjoy the trip without worrying about putting too much of it on credit and also be grateful to our friends and family for participating in the honeymoon! I promise to post pics but you have to wait till April!

I'm from a small beach town in California, Santa Cruz, the kind of place you never want to leave, at least not long term. I love to travel and have already been through Asia and Latin America, next: Europe! I work in high tech public relations (focusing on consumer technology) and spend a lot of my time in social media and surfing the social web. My other passions include cooking, wine and hanging out with my Fiance.
Newly married!
