My husand and I have been searching for the most beautiful and affordable venue to have our wedding in Atlanta. When I say my husband and I, I really mean just me. It seems like all of the beautiful venues are outside of the city. This would not be an issue if 50% of our guests were not from out-of-town.
My husband and I currently live in Roosevelt, NY, which is on Long Island, and therefore his family and friends would have to travel to Georgia for our wedding. The reason we are getting married in Atlanta is because that's where we met and lived for almost three years and most of my family is in Georgia. I don't want to pick a venue that is outside the city because half of our guests will not have transportation and they are not familiar with the Atlanta. Most of them would be scared to drive out to Gwinett Co. where there is more grass and trees than concrete and buildings....lol.
So.......I have narrowed my list down to a couple of places. My first choice is the Piedmont Room.

The Piedmont Room is a gorgeous venue right next to Piedmont Park. Not only is to in the heart of the city and close to many hotels, it also captures the unique charm of Atlanta that I want my guests to experience.
I'll be in Georgia in a couple of weeks to pick up my son....thank God for my mother who volunteered to keep him for the entire summer. So I plan on touring the facility with my husband.
Does anyone have any other suggestions for venues in the Atlanta area? My budget is around $15,000. Let me know what you think.

I am 22 years old and I currently live in Roosevelt, NY with my husband. We have a beautiful 7-month-old son who has totally redefined our lives in the most unique, loving way. My husband and I got married at the courthouse in Atlanta on July 11, 2008 in the company of our dear friends and co-workers. At the time we met I was attending Georgia State University and he had just graduated from Morehouse College. We met at a restaurant in downtown, where we both worked as servers. When I first started working there I was in a rocky relationship than ended shortly thereafter. At first we were just friends but after a few weeks we began hanging out and going on dates. Before I knew it we were a couple in the same workplace. After 3 years of dating we became pregnant with our son and when I was six months pregnant we tied the knot. Life as of now is in a transitional stage with my husband and I getting adjusted to Northen living. Well me more than him since this is his hometown. Since we didn't get to have the big wedding we are having a beautiful wedding with 100 of our closest family and friends in Atlanta.....the place where we met and married.
