Hello all! I'm not sure if I should start looking for my dress now or wait another month or so. I feel that's it's too early to start looking. Or maybe I could start looking, but not commit to buying one yet. My wedding date is May 30th, 2010. I don't know what I should do. Can someone please advice??? Thanks much! :)
Now that it's a few months since you first wrote this post, have you found your dream gown? Hope so! :)
Got engaged: 12/25/08
Started hitting bridal salons for dress: 2/28/09
Spent several months looking through magazines and web sites before I started and along the way.
Took 2 months and 7 salons from Glendale to South Orange County to finally find my dream dress...and I thought I knew exactly what I wanted before heading in. Funny thing is, I did know exactly what I wanted but couldn't find all the elements in one dress. Finally did - thank God!
Ordered my gown: June 1st, 2009
It should arrive no later than mid-September which gives me plenty of time for alterations.
Wedding date is April 16, 2010
Suggestions: Have ideas but be flexible. Tell sales girls what you want and look for gowns in the store but let them also bring you things they think you'll like...saw my dress on a hanger and passed right by it, but when the sales lady brought it in and asked me to put it on I couldn't believe how much I loved it.
Depending on your size - weight may be an issue. I am super thin (5'8" and 110 lbs) and am hoping to put on a few pounds before the big day but have never been able to for most of my life. So I opted for a corset back gown...gives me the freedom to grow one way or the other.
FYI - They say you should order your gown at least 6-9 months before the big day...and you'll need some time to shop for it, so I say start now! Have fun and sending well wishes!

Hola! My name is Evelyn, but everyone knows me as Evy. I am 23 years old, was born in Illinois and lived here ever since... I am currently employed and still in college.
I am going to tell all of you my love story of how I met my Handsome Rican :)
Eddie and I met our JR. YR. in HS in 2002... It all began during my lunch period... I saw this really good-looking guy walking down, past my table. I thought to myself... "IMPOSSIBLE" I secretly tell one of my GF's how cute I think this guy is and she smiles...thinking nothing of that silly smile I keep on talking about him.
The next day on my lunch period, this cute guy that I was telling my friend about, suddenly shows-up at my lunch table and begins introducing himself to me... I was blushed, heart beating fast, butterflies in my stomach, you name it! I felt intimidated by him... I could barely answer any of his questions, he wasn't shy, he wanted to know about me and I wasn't helping... w/out me knowing any of this... I find out that my GF tells one of his (Eddie) friends that I said hi to him.... So, he took it from there...
The first introduction became more than just that... it became into a friend relationship. We wrote each other's numbers on a piece of napkin and talked on the phone, every night. He walked me to my classes, my locker and to my car at the end of the school day. At this point, we were going through some up's and down's because a lot of people didn't want us to be together, but that didn't stop him from asking me out... one sunny day in May, after school... May 29th, 2003... Such a special day for us!!!
After a long, sweet relationship, we felt ready for a commitment. I couldn't wait for him to pop the big question!!! And he did..... On February 20th of this year, in one knee and w/a gorgeous diamond ring in one hand... I said YES!!!
It's been six years and six months since the first chapter of our love story and six months and two weeks to the biggest chapter of our lives!!!
I thank God for putting him in my life and thank my friend for making-up that lie...I feel so blessed :)
