Wedding Decor: Low-Key Elegance
Add to Favorite
One of the hottest trends in weddings is finding a look that's sophisticated yet relaxed and low key at the same time. Here's a great example for an autumn wedding.
For this modern, chic New York City loft wedding, Loulie Walker of Loulie Walker Events notes that the couple wanted guests to feel as if they were dining in their own home. So she created a warm and intimate dining room.
Important to the overall effect was the lighting–the loft space was aglow with candlelight.
Color was another key element. Dark, dramatic chocolate brown provided just the right touch of sophistication, lightened by accents of orange and lime green. Three 40-foot-long banquet tables were dressed in chocolate brown satin and paired with chocolate velvet cushioned chairs. Small bouquets of vivid orange blooms in low square glass vases graced the tables. Rich brown menu cards with contrasting lime green engraving and calligraphy adorned each place setting.
Keeping the look simple and uncluttered helped to create the low-key yet totally elegant mood.
